Putting your best foot forward.

I would love to put my best foot forward! Now let me see! What do you think this means? Well I decided to look up the meaning and found the following meaning:-

Embark on a journey or task with purpose and gusto.I took this from The Phrase Finder and it suggest it would mean there would be at least 3 or more. I only have two feet – would that I had more!!

You see I have had an epic NHS fail – see for yourself!

well the left one isn’t too bad but look at the right one!!

Now I have been very tolerant however, I am beginning to lose my patience. In April, it will be two years since a rash developed on my right foot. Since then my feet have gone through various different stages, at worst feeling like I was walking on razor blades (and having to resort to a wheel chair!) It was a year before I got referred to dermatology for what it was worth! St Mary’s hospital on the Isle of Wight – decided to sell off the  dermatology department!!

This means that there is no consistency . The hospital buys in doctors a month at a time. Therefore I never get to see the same doctor twice. Sometimes that might be a good thing – take one doctor for example. He thought it was perfectly ok to take a 5 minute phone call in the middle of my appointment to discuss someone else’s medication!!!! And yes I told him – where upon he took another phone call and yes I did tell him he was very rude. It made not a jot of difference. I have to say, the nursing staff were wonderful but what can they do except apologise to the patients? I did follow this up with a complaint to St Mary’s. What a waste of paper that was. My complaint went in during October and I got a letter  thanking me for my letter and I would receive a reply by 25th January! (what a waste of a stamp!) Yes I did get a reply, a very unsatisfactory one – completely missing the point of the very rude doctor!! I have been told, by a friend in the know – that the first letter came because they have to issue a reply within a certain time. What a load of nonsense.

All I can say is – I am soooooooooo glad I put customer care as my number one priority in my business. As for putting my best foot forward? – if I had at least 3 as the phrase suggests, maybe one of them might be ok!!! In the meantime – what do you think are my chances of getting a diagnosis and the proper treatment any time soon? I certainly won’t hold my breath!

As for embarking on a journey with gusto!!! Well…………..hobbling along more like!!
